Tourmaline is found in various parts of the globe and is the most colourful mineral known, being found in almost every colour and hue. Chrome tourmaline has its colour due to the presence of the element chromium, which is the same element that gives the red in ruby and green in emeralds. It may also contain traces of vanadium and is highly sought after due to its rare occurrence.
